Project Description: This presentation by Mighty Crow CEO Dr. Gretchen Clark Hammond explores the mental health impacts of work faced by Professionals who work in the service of others - social workers, EMS, teachers, medical professionals, first responders, public health professionals, etc. As we listen, support, and respond to others, we are impacted by secondary trauma. Helping professionals are particularly susceptible to compassion fatigue when this constant exposure to trauma is not recognized and addressed. Through this training, participants learn to identify trauma, secondary traumatic stress, and compassion fatigue. They also learn about strategies to help themselves begin to heal from those experiences. This training has been offered to numerous health organizations across the state of Ohio.
