Project: Grant Writing and Training Development

Client: NASW Ohio

Timeframe: 2023-2024

Project Description: After Ohio House Bill 68 (HB68) was introduced to the Ohio legislature in 2023, Mighty Crow was approached by the National Association of Social Workers Ohio Chapter (NASW OH) to help them raise the funding necessary to develop and implement a gender-affirming care training session that could teach Ohio healthcare providers how to navigate the language in HB68 to continue to provide life-saving and life-affirming care to Ohioans.  Mighty Crow assisted NASW OH with the planning and development of this training session and helped NASW OH to secure funding through grant writing and an emergency funding memo, and NASW OH has now raised over $100,000 to administer this training session throughout the state.  We are continuing our work with NASW OH for the evaluation of this training session and will assist them in navigating any circumstances that arise with program delivery. A copy of NASW OH’s practice guidance can be found here.

Ohio-based behavioral healthcare providers or social workers who would like to participate in NASW OH's gender-affirming care training session can fill out this form.
